Red card striker pushes referee as struggling Harlow Town suffer late defeat

Harlow Tn 1, VCD Athletic 2
(Ryman League, div one north)

WAYNE Grant could be hit with an FA ban after pushing the referee following his dismissal against VCD Athletic this afternoon (Saturday February 27).

FootballThe Hawks striker hit out when he received a second yellow card for a foul.

At the time the match was poised at 1-1 but VCD took full advantage of the extra man to grab an 85th-minute winner from Aaron Firth.

Grant had put Harlow in front on 25 minutes with a shot from close range.

However, VCD levelled just three minutes later through Leroy Huggins.

Then came the Grant dismissal just as the game seemed to be heading for a draw.

Hawks keeper James Hasell saved an injury-time penalty from Huggins after Spencer Knight fouled VCD sub Reece Walsh.

Harlow remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
