PETER Cousins was positively tingling with excitement after his selection to represent the Great Britain judo team at the Beijing Olympics was confirmed.
The 27-year-old from Hookfield, Harlow, had virtually sealed his spot by claiming a silver medal in the U-100kg category at the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in September last year.
Cousins attended a press conference in London on Tuesday where the team was formally announced.
He said: "I am nervous and I feel pride, especially for my mum and dad and brother.
"I am so grateful to them and cannot tell you how much they have sacrificed."
