POLICE have closed down a Harlow crack den used by dealers to sell Class A drugs from the living room window.
Officers secured a ‘crack house closure order’ at Harlow Magistrates’ Court on Friday (March 5) to board up the flat in Shawbridge, which had become a haven for hard drug users.
They then swooped on the Shawbridge council flat, battered down the front door and arrested one woman inside. A second woman was ordered to leave.
A foil wrap containing suspected crack cocaine was discovered outside the property.
During an earlier police raid three weeks ago, officers found used needles and drugs paraphernalia throughout the premises as well as suspected stolen property.
A man was charged and a woman cautioned after being arrested on suspicion of burglary and abstracting electricity.
Police then applied to the courts for a civil closure order under the Anti Social Behaviour Act.
