"I’m really pleased with the way Phoenix has grown over the past couple of years and it’s nice to be able to reward the students for all their hard work and determination on nights like these," said Mr Dale.

"The Jack Petchey Foundation does some fantastic work in the community and for nine of our students to win awards is a fantastic achievement and a real boost for their self-confidence and personal development."

Harlow MP Robert Halfon, who presented the awards, added: "It was wonderful to see some of the amazingly talented Harlow youngsters getting the recognition they truly deserve."
