TALENTED young students from a Harlow performing arts school got the red carpet treatment after scooping high achievement honours at the Harlow Arts Awards.
Phoenix Theatre School, based at Burnt Mill School on First Avenue, nominated nine of its students for the Jack Petchey Foundation-sponsored event, with school principal Phil Dale also picking up a leadership award at the ceremony at Harlow Playhouse.
"I’m really pleased with the way Phoenix has grown over the past couple of years and it’s nice to be able to reward the students for all their hard work and determination on nights like these," said Mr Dale.
"The Jack Petchey Foundation does some fantastic work in the community and for nine of our students to win awards is a fantastic achievement and a real boost for their self-confidence and personal development."
Harlow MP Robert Halfon, who presented the awards, added: "It was wonderful to see some of the amazingly talented Harlow youngsters getting the recognition they truly deserve."
