HARLOW ‘Swings into Spring’ later this month with three separate art exhibitions and two unique events.
On the same day, Café Elite, in The Rows, is being transformed into "Gallery Elite" for a new retrospective exhibition by local photographer Dave Skinner
The photos cover the years 1980 – 2010 and include street-life, local people, landscapes, portraits, weddings and more.
The third art show is the annual Harlow Primary Schools exhibition in the Gibberd Gallery, which takes place between March 27 and April 17, on the theme of "Mythology and Fantasy."
Wool spinners, lace makers, rag weavers, knitters and wood turners will then show off their skills in the Harvey Centre on Saturday, March 27, joined by newborn lambs from Pets’ Corner which children will be able to bottle- feed on the day.
Outside in the Water Gardens, meanwhile, a unique exhibition will bring together police officers, the prison service, a Serco prison van, exhibits from the police museum, a hanging post, a strolling Victorian era prison officer and much more to bring home the reality of life in prison.
Town Centre Development Manager Richard Dennery said: "This year, for the first time, we are concentrating our annual Swing into Spring effort on visual rather than performing arts.
"Creating two new events to add to the existing primary schools exhibition will help tighten the focus on Harlow as an artistic town."
