THE Harlow branch of a national charity celebrated 25 years of service in the community by holding a fish and chips party.
More than 80 people tucked into meal to mark Parkinson’s UK birthday milestone. Among those attending were Harlow MP Robert Halfon, specialist nurses, volunteers and carers as well as sufferers of the condition and their friends and family.
"Our anniversary celebrations went really well and we were really pleased to have so many people turn up," said secretary Corinne Hall.
"Most people involved with Parkinson’s UK have been affected by the condition, whether directly or through a family member, so it is really nice for everyone to be able to come together and have some fun."
The group, which is based at the David Livingstone Club in Potter Street, offers information, friendship and support to anyone affected by the neurological condition, holding regular branch meetings and an open club every Wednesday.
"We aim to make the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s that little bit easier and would welcome any new members," added Corinne.
