Sanctuary Care’s Livingstone House, in Potter Street, received the highest possible five-star rating following an inspection by Harlow Council.

The home for 19 adults with learning disabilities received the award from an environmental health officer as part of the council’s Scores on the Doors food hygiene scheme.

Deputy manager Clare Walker said: “We are over the moon to have received the highest possible rating in the Scores on the Doors scheme.

“We pride ourselves on providing our residents with excellent accommodation and the highest standards of care and support so this score is testament to the hard work of our dedicated team.”

The rating is awarded to premises that show high standards of compliance with statutory obligations and food safety management.

The Scores on the Doors scheme was introduced by the council in October 2008 and is designed to help members of the public make informed choices about where they wish to eat or purchase food.
