Workshops in Harlow for budding entrepreneurs

WOULD-be entrepreneurs can pick up some useful tips about starting their own business at a series of workshops hosted by Harlow Council.

Run by tutors from the Government's Revenue and Customs service, the 18 sessions cover topics ranging from the basics of working for yourself and how VAT operates to doing business abroad.

Councillor Russell Perrin, portfolio holder for regeneration and enterprise, said: “These workshops cover crucial basics for new starters in business, so I’d urge those interested to come along. They’re free of charge, too.”

He added: “Harlow has a 126-acre Enterprise Zone which offers a range of incentives for companies to set up here.”

The sessions are being held at the Civic Centre in the Water Gardens, starting next Thursday (January 19) at 11am with a three-hour workshop focusing on online self-assessment.
